This course is designed for application developers who have programmed in a 3rd or 4th generation language – and who need to build leading-edge applications using Rational Business Developer.
§ Prerequisites - You must have the following software installed:
- RAD or WDSC (7.0.0.2) or WDz at level 7.0.0.3 or later
- RBDe at level 7.0.0.3 or later
- This course assumes that the student has the basic knowledge of IS technologies, data processing, software and have programmed for at least two or more years in a language such as: COBOL, RPG, PL/1, Pascal, or some 4th Generation Language or tool.
- Knowledge of SQL (Structured Query Language) for database access is assumed as well.
- Basic PC and mouse-driven development skills is also assumed.
- Eclipse development – Terms, tools and navigation
- EGL:
§ The language
§ Accessing the database through EGL’s SQL keywords - Some understanding of U.I. and basic screen development
Note – this class is designed to provide as much of the necessary information for doing leading-edge web-development as possible.
